A: Unfortunately, the adjustment screws for the rollers on glass patio doors you mentioned are not present in pocket doors. These two types of door systems differ as the patio doors slide on bottom rollers and your pocket doors slide on top mounted rollers. I will describe common methods of installation of several types of pocket door tracks and hardware and offer some advice for possible adjustment or repairs.
Many older pocket door assemblies are not complete until the casings are installed on the narrow, split door jambs at the header and hollow wall side of the door opening. These casing help stabilize the jambs, which act to partially hide the track and the edge of the door in the pocket. These casings and jambs quite often have to be removed, at least on one side of the door, to allow for access to the door track and removal of the door. It is normally not too difficult to accomplish this task but care must be taken not to crack or damage the older wood trim when prying it away from the framing & drywall. If the hardware is badly deteriorated, or the track loose inside the hollow wall cavity, complete jamb, casing and drywall removal may be required. The thin framing inside the hollow wall cavity may also be warped and rubbing or scraping on the door, requiring significant reconstruction to prevent damaging the door upon reinstallation.Wooden Track Doors Can Be Hard to Repair
