"I can't think of one occupation where you wouldn't be susceptible to some sort of injury," said Pete Walker, the Manitoba Federation of Labour's health and safety expert.

Meanwhile, the Safe Workers of Tomorrow project -- organized by the MFL, the province and the Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba-- led a "leader's walk" to the legislature.

"There's a huge problem out there right now and the safety issues haven't really been addressed," Walker said.
