"We wanted interesting creatures for our visitors to see and snakes, spiders and bats are the creepiest creatures," said Bob Wrigley, the zoo's curator. "Young people in particular really like these types of creatures so when I had an opportunity to acquire some bats I thought 'Wow, I think the public will really enjoy them.'"
Since they're usually sleeping during the day, the bats weren't very active on Wednesday afternoon.
