About the Author

David A. Potts received his BA from Cape Town University, his LLB from

Dalhousie and his LLM from Osgoode Law School. He was called to the On-

tario Bar in . Since then, he has specialized in libel and slander law and

in reputation management for a diverse range of clients. He has served on the

Ontario Attorney Genera l’s Advisory C ommittee on t he law of defamation,

and is a sought-aer speaker and w riter (CBC, Forbes, USA Today, the Can-

adian and International Bar Associations, e Law Society of Upper Canada,

and many others). He is co-author of Canadian Libel and Slander Actions (Ir-

win Law, ) with Roger McConchie and Canadian Libel Practice (Butter-

worths, ) with Julian Porter, as well as being a contributor to Cyberlibel in

Electronic Commerce — A Practitioner’s Guide (Carswell, )
