ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ari N. Kaplan, B.A. (Hons.) (McGill), LL.B., LL.M. (Osgoode) is a part-

ner at Koskie M insky L LP in Toronto, and represent s tru stees of multi-

employer pension plans, employee and pensioner groups, private and

public sector trade unions, and indiv iduals. He appears regularly before

the Ontario Superior Court, Div isional Court, and the Financial Serv i-

ces Tribunal and has appe ared as counsel before the Ontario Court of

Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada.

Mr. Kaplan is also an adjunct facult y member of the University of

Western Ontario, Faculty of Law and holds an LL.M. in administra-

tive law with a focus on pension regulation. He is the editor-in-chief of

the bi-monthly publication Canadian Legal & Legislative Reporter and

is a contributing author to Employee Benef‌i ts in Canada (Third Editi on

Revised). He is a frequent author, speaker, and lecturer and is active

in the Ontario Bar Association and t he Canadian Pension and Benef‌i ts

Institute.
