Nancy L. Dennison is Acting General Counsel at the Department of Justice’s Ontario

Regional Oce in Toronto. Her practice focuses on criminal, constitutional, and

extradition litigation. She started her career at the Attorney General of Ontario in 1997.

She then joined the former Federal Prosecution Service, where she prosecuted cases

involving international drug tracking, money laundering, and fraud. In 2005, Nancy

joined the extradition and mutual legal assistance team at the Department of Justice,

where she has litigated extradition cases at all levels of court. She also practises con-

stitutional law, primarily defending federal criminal legislation at the Supreme Court

of Canada. She teaches within the Department of Justice and has presented at num-

erous continuing legal education programs throughout her career.

Seth Weinstein is a criminal defence lawyer in Toronto. His practice focuses on

representing individuals on a wide variety of criminal charges and professional disci-

pline matters. He also assists individuals and corporations being investigated or charged

under a variety of regulatory statutes. Shortly after his call to the bar in 2000, Seth

took particular interest in cross-border litigation. He has since developed extensive

expertise in extradition and mutual legal assistance matters and has been counsel in

some of the leading cases in those areas. He is a member of the board of directors of

the Ontario Criminal Lawyers’ Association, teaches evidence as an adjunct professor

at Osgoode Hall Law School, is a frequent presenter at continuing legal education

programs, and is the author of a number of papers on criminal law issues.
