About the Editor

Gregory Tardi, BCL, LLB, DJur, is the general editor of the Under-

standing Canada Collection. He is a member of the Barreau du

Québec and serves both as president of the Institute of Parliament-

ary and Political Law and as editor of the Journal of Parliamentary and

Political Law. He has served as legal counsel with Elections Canada

and at the House of Commons. He has taught at McGill, York, and

Queen’s universities and at the University of Ottawa, and he is the

author of several books, including e eory and Practice of Political

Law, Anatomy of an Election, and, in the Understanding Canada col-

lection, Political Law in Canada.
