COMPETITION LAW
This is a matter of primarily federal jurisdiction (by way of the Competition Act which aims at
preventing anti-competitive behaviours by Canadian businesses). Competition policy, as set
by the federal Parliament, is driven primarily by concepts of “fairness” in the marketplace, but
also by the desire to achieve economic eff‌iciency and adaptability. Related topics: COMMER-
CIAL LAW, CORPORATE LAW, PARTNERSHIPS. This area of law is sometimes referred to
as “Antitrust law.”
