This section will provide information on secondary sources of international law, focusing on the major books, journals, encyclopedias/ dictionaries, and websites that provide commentary or overviews of international legal research. As mentioned above, the resources listed below should ordinarily be the first place you go to get an explanation or overview of a particular area of international law.

1) Books

You can safely assume that someone, somewhere, has written a book on an area of international law that you need to research. The titles

If you need to find more specific or topical books, simply try a title keyword search in a major law library catalogue using the keywords "international" and "law" plus a keyword for the particular sub-topic, for example, "environmental" if you were looking for a book on international environmental law.
