Voting and ballots - Marking of ballots by voter - Validity of mark on ballot - 38 ballots were marked with an "X" which was not in the circle beside the candidate's name but was placed in the rectangular box containing the candidate's name - The Northwest Territories Court of Appeal held that the ballots were invalid because the ballots were marked in direct violation of s. 51(3)(d) of the Canada Elections Act.
