FOLLOW-UP TO THE ELECTION
AFTER MONDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2019
Pursuant to section  of the Act, following the election, the Chief
Electoral Ocer must prepare f‌inal lists of electors for each electoral dis-
trict. ey must also make these lists available for each electoral district
to each registered party that ran a candidate in that electoral district.

e mandate of Elections Canada is to “deliver” elections in support of
the Democratic system in force in Canada. us, while the wrap-up of
the rd federal general election was still under way, preparations had
to begin to ramp up for the th. It is impossible to put a precise date
on the start of this work but it must come very shortly following the
conclusion of the work on the election just concluded. New paper must
be ordered, fresh material of all sorts must be put in stock, and leases
for polling places across the country need to be negotiated. Initially, the
election administration tends to follow the electoral calendar set out in
