Abstract: The ten-year anniversar y of the certif‌ication decision
in Cloud v Canad a (AG) was this year. The successful certif‌i-
cation of Cloud heralded a new era of litigation in Ontario
that has incre ased access to justice for thousand s of margin-
alized plaintiff s. Since Cloud, class actions seeking compen-
sation for historical abuse have multiplied in Ontario and
f‌lourished. These class actions have sought more than just
monetary compensation and have resulted in apologies for
historical relationships and historical wrongs. The post-Cloud
jurisprudence is a n important accomplishment and develop-
ment for class proceedings in Ontario over the last ten years.
