INSURANCE LAW
Often treated as a particular subset of contract law, the law of insurance is a large and particu-
larly complex area of Canadian law. Dealing with all types of insurance (health, liability, life,
marine, motor vehicle, property, etc.) it is predominantly within the sphere of the provinces
and is also greatly informed by a large body of jurisprudence. There are, however, two signif‌i-
cant federal statutes that regulate insurers insofar as they function as f‌inancial institutions:
The Insurance Companies Act and the Off‌ice of the Superintendant of Financial Institutions Act.

implique, en ce domaine, des règles utilisées en ARBITRAGE (CIVIL ET COMMERCIAL).
