INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW

This is the law related to the protection of ideas and expression. Normally, this topic is divided

into the following subtopics: copyright, industrial design, patents, and trade-marks. These

specif‌ic areas are all subject to federal legislation, placing this area in the federal sphere. There

are also biotechnology, information technology, and privacy aspects to the topic. This listing

deals generally with intellectual property because the specif‌ic subtopics (other than industrial

priété intellectuelle. Aux branches traditionnelles du domaine – DROIT D'AUTEUR, BREVETS,

MARQUES DE COMMERCE et dessin industriel – s'ajoutent maintenant les questions relatives

aux circuits informatiques, aux obtentions végétales et à la brevetabilité du vivant en général à

l’exclusion des aspects humains, ces derniers relevant de la BIOÉTHIQUE.
