L’approche pancanadienne de la
tarification du carbone
Le Canada possède une approche globale visant à réduire les émis-
sions nationales de GES. Une grande variété de politiques est
déployée à cet eet, notamment de nombreux incitatifs financiers et
réglementaires. Parmi ces politiques, comme le souligne Environne-
ment et Changement climatique Canada dans son « Plan de réduc-
tion des émissions pour », la tarification de la pollution par
le carbone constitue la pierre angulaire de l’approche adoptée par le
pays en matière d’action climatique.
L’histoire de la tarifcation du carbone au Canada
Le Canada s’est engagé sur la scène internationale à prendre des
mesures pour réduire ses émissions de GES. Le pays est signataire
de la CCNUCC. En , le Canada a réarmé ses engagements
en matière de lutte contre les changements climatiques en signant
l’Accord de Paris. Ce faisant, le Canada a soumis une contribution
