LEGAL ETHICS

In contrast to the perception of much of the public, law as a profession has, at its core, a

body of ethical considerations and constantly seeks to balance interests and achieve fairness

in process and result. As such, legal ethics are an important matter to all participants in the

profession. They are expressed in a variety of ways: through academic writing, professional

discussion, rules of court, and guidelines set out by the profession itself. Related topic: PRO-
