April 28, 2010 (Toronto, ON) - Bennett Jones LLP is pleased to announce that Michael Eizenga has joined the firm as a partner in the litigation department in the Toronto office.
Michael is widely acknowledged as one of Canada's leading class action lawyers. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers; he is in the "Most Frequently Recommended" Lexpert Category for Class Action Litigation and the "Consistently recommended" category for Product Liability Litigation.
Michael was the President of the Advocates Society from 2007-2008 and on its Board of Directors from 1999-2008. He is also on the Board of Pro Bono Law Ontario and a number of other community, professional and academic organizations. From 2003-2006, Michael was the President of the Liberal Party of Canada. From 1995-1997 he was the President of the Liberal Party of Ontario. He is currently on the Board of the Federal Liberal Agency of Canada. He has taught at Western's Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science and Department of Philosophy; Osgoode Hall's Intensive Trial Advocacy Workshop, the Law Society's Bar Admission Course, and at both the Ontario Theological Seminary and the Dallas Theological Seminary.
