Machine learning hackathon will be hosted in Sudbury.

This winter, postsecondary students, graduates, and industry professionals will get the chance to put their programming skills to the test in Sudbury to work on machine learning challenges.

NORCAT will play host to Hard-Line's first ever Machine Learning Hackathon, which will take place on Maley Drive from Jan. 17 to Jan. 19, 2020.

A hackathon is an event where programmers collaborate on different projects typically hosted by a company or organization with an interest in technology.

The event will showcase Sudbury as an innovation hub of Ontario, grow the machine learning community in the region, and expose participants to opportunities in the sector.

Teams will spend 42 hours working on one of two challenges.
