Summary:
The victim of a beating, which caused permanent brain damage that left him unable to work, applied for compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Ordinance. The Northwest Territories Supreme Court allowed the application, awarding him a $7,500 lump sum payment and periodic payments equalling the maximum capital amount of $50,000.
