North Bay resort transfers to new owners.

New owners have purchased the Pinewood Park Clarion Resort in North Bay.

Toronto-based Jay Virdi and Garry Arora were announced as the facility's new owners on Aug. 22. The pair said in a news release they have "been part of the hospitality industry for years and have successful properties globally."

"We are very excited to move to North Bay and invest in this iconic landmark," said Virdi, managing director, in the release. "We arrived late last week and are now connecting with the amazing Pinewood Park team to lay out the roadmap for the future."

The Clarion was established in 1960 by John Kennedy after he purchased the former Evelyn Motel and 100 acres of adjacent land. Over the years, Kennedy established a motel, dining room, nine-hole golf course, large tent and trailer park, small museum and zoo.
