Northern College, Glencore partner on underground program.

Northern College's Haileybury School of Mines is creating a Northern School of Hard Rock Mining through a partnership with Glencore.

The Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core program will be delivered at the 2,400 training level at the Kidd Mine in Timmins.

Training will consist of four mandatory modules, along with up to nine other modules. The 12-week program will total 580 training hours, including first-hand experience gained by embedding students into operational crews and following production schedules. The first intake for the program is open with a start date in April 2016. Regular intakes will continue throughout the year.
