PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Professional responsibility is usually associated with the self-regulated professions such as

law, medicine, dentistry, and accountancy, the subject of professional responsibility deals with

the ability of these professions to establish standards and rules of conduct and to impose sanc-

tions upon members who breach these rules. These powers are delegated to the professions by
