PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW

Unlike private international law which deals with private persons and entities, public inter-

national law refers to the rules which govern nations in their dealings with other states.

Treaties and international pacts are signif‌icant in this subject which is entirely federal in its

jurisdiction. This subject also includes the law as it relates to armed conf‌lict between nations.

To understand this topic as it applies in Canada, it is not necessary to refer to exclusively
