Summary:

The accused pled guilty to uttering death threats, storage of two loaded handguns, unsafe storage of a 5.56 mm carbine and possession of a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The Crown and defence jointly recommended concurrent conditional sentences of house arrest for 120 days to be followed by 24 months of probation.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Court accepted the joint sentencing submission. The court also made ancillary orders including a DNA order, a firearms prohibition and forfeiture of the illegal items seized. Victim fine surcharges of $200 per offence for a total of $1,000 were to be paid within 30 days.
