Summary:

The accused was convicted of one count of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault against a female. The victim was 11 years of age at the time the offences commenced. The offending conduct was continuous over a two year period.

The Newfoundland Provincial Court sentenced the accused to a nine month term of imprisonment on each count, to be served concurrently.

Sentence - Indecent assault - Accused was charged with one count of indecent assault against a female and one count of sexual assault - Accused touched and felt victim's breasts and vagina on an almost daily basis over a two year period - Victim between 11 and 13 years of age - Accused had common law relationship with victim's mother for nine years - Accused in loco parentis the victim - The Newfoundland Provincial Court sentenced the accused to a nine month term of concurrent imprisonment on each count.
