Summary:

The accused pleaded guilty to break and enter and possession of stolen property and was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment for break and enter and six months' imprisonment (concurrent) for possession of stolen property. The accused appealed the break and enter sentence.

The British Columbia Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal.

Sentence - Break and enter - The 21 year old accused broke into a private dwelling and stole over $6,000 worth of property - Previous convictions as a young offender for trafficking and break and enter - Offences related to drug use - The trial judge sentenced the accused to 18 months' imprisonment for break and enter - The British Columbia Court of Appeal dismissed the accused's sentence appeal - The court stated that the sentence was within the appropriate range for breaking and entering dwelling houses.
