Sentence - Bodily harm with intent to wound or to endanger life - The accused, who had been drinking heavily, was assaulted by two men and whipped across the back with his own belt - After returning home for a 16-gauge shotgun, the accused shot one of the men, whose participation in the beating had not been great - The accused was convicted of causing bodily harm with intent to wound under s. 228(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada - The accused was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment, with no probation to follow the term of imprisonment - See paragraphs 10 to 11.
