Summary:

As a young person, the accused was sentenced to 18 months' probation for the offence of careless use of a firearm. He was subsequently charged with breach of probation and released on an undertaking. The probation order and undertaking both prohibited the accused from possessing or consuming alcohol. The accused, now 19 years of age, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching the undertaking and one count of breach of probation.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Court sentenced the accused to a conditional discharge with six months' probation in relation to each offence.
