Summary:
The accused was convicted of sexual offences against infant female relatives over an 11 year period ending in 1986. The accused was sentenced to 7.5 years' imprisonment. The accused appealed his convictions on the ground that the trial judge erred in admitting certain similar fact evidence. The accused applied under s. 679(3) of the Criminal Code for interim release pending the hearing of the appeal.
The Alberta Court of Appeal, per McClung, J.A., granted judicial interim release.
