Summary:
A teacher used force to eject an insolent student from the classroom and make another one sit down. The teacher was charged with assault.
The New Brunswick Provincial Court acquitted the teacher.

Assaults - Defence - Child correction - A grade eight homeroom was in utter confusion at the Thomas-Albert High School - More precisely, two students made disrespectful remarks to the teacher - The latter used force to eject one of the students and to make the other sit down - The teacher is alleged to have pushed the first one against the blackboard and to have slapped the second one on the head - The teacher was charged with assault - The New Brunswick Provincial Court acquitted the teacher - The court held that the teacher had used force by way of correction and that the force did not exceed what was reasonable under the circumstances.
