Procedure - Trial - Commencement of - When - Narcotic Control Act, R.S.C. 1970, c. N-1, s. 9(3) - Notice of intention to produce certificate evidence under s. 9(1) of the Narcotic Control Act was served on the accused after he pleaded - S. 9(3) of the Act required notice be served "before the trial" - The accused argued that the time of service was not "before the trial" - The Newfoundland Provincial Court held that the words "before the trial" in s. 9(3) of the Act meant at any time before the commencement of taking evidence.
