American travellers coming across the border might have something to do with the record number of passengers using the Sault Ste. Marie Airport.
The Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation (SSMADC) reported passenger traffic during the month of June was 8.12 per cent compared to the same month last year.
The corporation reported that 18,074 passengers went through the terminal, bringing the year-to-date total to 216,172. That's a record in the 21 years of private ownership of the airport.
