Sudbury program to engage more women in policy, governance.

Sudbury is home to a new program that's striving to help young women become more comfortable with governance and policy, and to seek out opportunities to serve in board positions.

She's On Board is a joint initiative of She&Her, a non-profit organization that aims to guide more women into leadership roles, and PoliticsNOW, whose mandate encourages greater participation of women in politics across Northern Ontario.

The organizations note that, according to a 2017 Deloitte survey, only 20.5 per cent of board seats in Canada are held by women, and only 57 per cent of boards in the country have three or more female directors.
