The plaintiff was injured when his motorcycle collided with the defendant's vehicle. The plaintiff brought an action in negligence for damages for personal injuries. Liability and special damages were not in issue.

The New Brunswick Court of Queen's Bench, Trial Division, assessed general damages accordingly.

Body injuries - Back - General - A 19 year old male injured his back in a motor vehicle accident - Continuing pain in lower back and right leg every few days - Can not participate in sports or lift more than 20 pounds - He was able to complete a course to become a chef and has been able to work - Possible accelerated arthritis development and possible surgery - The New Brunswick Court of Queen's Bench, Trial Division, awarded $9,000.00 general damages - See paragraphs 5 to 27.
