Exclusion and expulsion - Immigration - Deportation - Deportation hearing, procedure - An alien at a deportation hearing requested a Special Inquiry Officer to disclose the contents or substance of notes made by an immigration officer which had been given to the Special Inquiry Officer - The request was denied and the alien was deported - The Federal Court of Appeal set aside the deportation order and stated that the denial of the request by the alien was a failure to observe a principle of natural justice.
