Timmins company lauded for apprenticeship program.

Porcupine Trailers in Timmins is one of four companies across the province being recognized for their apprenticeship programs.

The company, which manufactures, distributes and repairs trailers, has offered apprenticeship opportunities since its inception in 1964. Porcupine trains one to two apprentices annually, and has retained several apprentices after they have become certified as journeypersons.

It was the only Northern Ontario company recognized through the awards program.
