Two 'bay'-based breweries team up to produce new ale.

Two of Northern Ontario's breweries are collaborating on a new beer, playing off the similarities in the names of their hometowns.

New Ontario Brewing Company of North Bay and Sleeping Giant Brewing Company of Thunder Bay are sharing ideas and techniques to produce a new India pale ale (IPA).

Kyle Mulligan, head brewer at Sleeping Giant, said it was important for the company to work with another Northern Ontario brewery.

"Being our very first collaboration, this was an important decision for our team, and New Ontario's vision really aligned with how we operate, not to mention our combined love for making fresh, high-quality beer," Mulligan said in an August news release.
