Money announced for mobile dialysis technology.

PositionEQ0L to get government finance

The provincial government is contributing $100,000 to eQ0L to develop an iPad app and web applications to help dialysis patients become more independent in their homes.

The funds will help the Sault Ste. Marie company develop a product called DiCAT (Dialysis Platform for Communication. Assistance and Training), which is a mobile technology designed to simplify the process of independent/home dialysis.

DiCAT consists of iPad and web-based applications that will provide enhanced connectivity, access to resources, and process management. DiCAT will promote a shift from incentre care to care in the home, thus empowering patients, streamlining processes. and alleviating strain on hospital resources.
