David Vaver,
B.A.,
LL.B., J.D., is Professor of Law at Osgoode Hall Law
School at York University, where he teaches intellectual property law.
He taught previously at the University of British Columbia and the Uni-
versity of Auckland. He is the founding editor and editor in chief of the
internationally respected Intellectual Property Journal. He also serves as
an adviser to the Department of Heritage on copyright law reform,
including the present Phase 2 proposals to amend the Copyright Act.
Professor Vaver has written extensively on the law and policy of intel-
lectual property both in Canada and internationally, and his writings
are often cited by courts and legal writers.
