ABOUT THE AUTHORS

David M. Paciocco, a professor at the Faculty of L aw at the University

of Ottawa, Common Law section, is a former prosecutor who continues

to engage in a specialized criminal defence practice. He h as written

extensively about criminal law and i s a frequent lecturer at continu-

ing education programs for judges and lawyers. His academ ic writings

have been relied upon, on numerous occasions, by court s in Canada,

New Zealand, Austral ia, and by the Privy Council.

Lee Stuesser is a Professor of Law at Bond University in Australia. Prior

to this he taught Evidence, Advocacy and Criminal Law at the Univer-

sity of Manitoba. He is the author of two books on advocacy: one for

Canadian lawyers, An Advocacy Primer, and one for Australia n barris-

ters and solicitors, An Introduction to Advocacy.
