Sudbury airport receives $450,000 in provincial funding.

The provincial government is investing $450,000 in the expansion of the Greater Sudbury Airport Industrial Park, according to an announcement made by Northern Development and Mines Minister Rick Bartolucci.

The Sudbury Airport Community Development Corporation will receive the funds through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), which will allow for the expansion of the general aviation and commercial apron area.

This work will include structural improvements such as a new paved aircraft apron area complete with edge and flood lighting, the relocation of power lines, new security fencing and upgraded utilities.
