The past few months have seen some significant changes at the Health Law Institute. In June, Brent Windwick stepped down as Executive Director. Brent has been a wonderful asset to the Institute over the past two and a half years. We wish him the best on his return to full-time practice. Brent continues to teach as a sessional instructor in the Faculty of Law and will remain an important part of the HLI family.

We are fortunate to have filled the position of Executive Director with a highly capable individual. Tracey Bailey brings a wealth of practice and teaching experience to the position. For the past two years she has been the HLI's Project Manager. In that capacity, she became an indispensable part of the HLI team. Tracey expanded our public outreach programs, took charge of the publications and led a variety of research projects. Given her incredible enthusiasm, leadership and administrative skills, I know the HLI is in good hands.

It also gives me pleasure to announce that Nola Ries has joined the HLI staff as Project Manager/Research Associate. Nola, who recently completed her LL.M. in health law, has a strong background in constitutional and human fights law. She has already played a critical role in several research initiatives, including championing a project on the public health law issues associated with the SARS...
