Batchewana wind farms a ealed.

Appeals have been made against two wind projects in the Algoma region involving the Batchewana First Nation.

Last fall, an appeal was brought forward against the approval of the Goulais Wind Farm, a partnership between Sprott Power Corp. and Batch-ewana First Nation, which would get a 49 per cent partnership interest in the 25-megawatt wind farm located north of Sault Ste. Marie. The 11-turbine farm would generate power under Sprott's 20-year Feed-in Tariff contract with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA).

Appellant Doug Moseley made the appeal and the hearing was held last November. A decision on the appeal is expected this spring.
