In the hopes of increasing mining-related training and education possibilities for Northern Ontario, Sudbury's Laurentian University and Cambrian College have signed an articulation agreement.

Beginning in September 2007, graduates of Cambrian's three-year Geological Engineering Technology program will be able to obtain a B.Sc. degree in Earth Sciences by completing two further years of study at Laurentian.
