Hornepayne sawmill secures wood supply.

Olav Haavaldsrud Timber Company of Hornepayne was a big winner in the province's wood supply competition.

The northeastern Ontario sawmill was awarded 220,000 cubic metres per year of wood fibre. It produces dimension lumber in lengths from six to 16 feet, rough or planed, green or dried.

The company was co-founded in 1953 by Nor-weigan immigrants Olav and Elna Haavald-srud who bought a small pulp log manufacturing plant.
