In Benchpress Vol. 25#1, we reported the case of George Harris, a tenacious Winnipeg man who brought an action against Revenue Canada on behalf of all Canadian taxpayers. He argued that Revenue Canada improperly allowed a prominent Canadian family to remove billions of dollars tax free from Canada through a family trust. Revenue Canada tried to have his case thrown out of court, but Mr. Harris was given permission to proceed. Now, however, a judge of the Federal Court of Canada has dismissed his claim, citing insufficient evidence, but not without harsh words for Revenue Canada and kind words for Mr. Harris.
