Introduction

e Supreme Court of Canada has issued a number of high-prole decisions in

the area of health law, the most recent being Chaoulli. Over the years, other de-

cisions have become well known to Canadians, including Latimer,Rodriguez,

and Morgentaler. For those closer to the eld of health law, familiar names

also include Reibl,Starson,Eve,G. (D.F.),McInerney,Auton, Eldridge,

the Harvard oncomouse case, and Dow Corning. Health law has clearly de-

veloped into a dynamic, relevant, and important site both of jurisprudential

activity and of public interest.
