With numerous large-scale projects either completed or near completion, the company is keeping a firm grasp on the Northern Ontario engineering and surveying marketplace.

Sutcliffe Rody Quesnel Inc. is the result of a merger of two long-standing and well-known Northern Ontario firms, and has roots dating back nearly 100 years.

H. Sutcliffe Ltd. was formed as a corporation in 1906 in New Liskeard by Homer W. Sutcliffe in response to the need for large-scale, professional engineering and surveying services in Timiskaming and throughout Northeastern Ontario.

Historically, the company's primary focus was to provide professional engineering and legal surveying services to support the planning, development and rehabilitation of property and infrastructure within the various sectors of the Northern Ontario economy.

Rody and Quesnel Surveying Inc. was first incorporated in 1971 in Cochrane as T.E. Rody Ltd. after operating as a sole proprietorship since 1964 by Talson Rody. In 1972, the firm aquired the Timmins-based practice of the late J.A. Lonegran. A decade later, they purchased the practice of the late A.B. McLennan.

To reflect the current ownership, the T.E. Rody Ltd. was changed to Rody and Quesnel Surveying Inc. in 1997. Today, the company maintains two full-time offices in Cochrane and Timmins, providing a full range of survey services to a variety of corporate, municipal...
