The health of Ontario's forests has been assured thanks to the recent proclamation of the Professional Foresters Act 2000.

The Ontario Professional Foresters Association (OPFA) says the proclamation is a landmark legislation for Ontario that will help ensure long-term sustainability of the province's forests.

Now in effect, all foresters in Ontario must be registered with the OPFA and licensed under the Professional Foresters Act.
