Though it may take a lifetime of searching, each one of us finds, in our own time and place, a passion that drives us, motivates us and inspires us. Michael Lynch found that passion during his short career as a staff writer with Northern Ontario Business, and it is with deepest sorrow that I announce Michael passed away suddenly in his home on May 30.

This passion that I speak of was evident in his work, where he combined a love for business relations and an ardour for writing.

"Business was always a love that he had," says Laura Lynch, his widow. "His job was his pride, his love. I've never seen him so happy."

Michael began his career as a reporter for The Northern Miner in Toronto and in Vancouver in 1969. In the years to follow he worked as a senior information writer for the Insurance Corp. of British Columbia, chief of territorial information services for the Government of Yukon, supervisor of correspondents for the Daily Commercial News, and for over a decade he worked as the...
